慣習・習慣

habit: 主に個人による無意識的な慣習･癖をいう. しばしばやめ難いことを暗示し, 否定的文脈で用いられることも多い

custom: 長期にわたる社会的･文化的な慣習･慣例をさし, しばしば具体的な国･地域･集団を表す形容詞と用いられる

practice: 〘ややかたく〙 で, 何らかの理由で習慣的に行っていること. 仕事や社会的･宗教的な事柄について用いられることが多いが, customと違って自由意思で選択可能

convention: 広く受け入れられ従ってきた作法や芸術･文学における伝統的技法をいう

ritual: 定期的で毎回同じように行われることで, しばしば特に理由を意識せず長期にわたって続けられてきたこと

rule: そうするのが賢明と考え行っている習慣

統治する

rule (over): 権力を行使して専制的に支配する

govern: 国家の行政や会社・家庭などの管理運営を行う

reign (over): 君臨する
