doubt vs. suspect

基本的にsuspectが「…であると思う」の意であるのに対し, doubtは「…ではないと思う」の意

e.g. I suspect that he is a spy. ≒I don't doubt that he is a spy.: 私は彼がスパイなのではと思う.

また目的語として, suspectはif(whether)節をとらないが, doubtは肯定文でif(whether)節をとる
