地域

area: 面積の大小を問わず, 一般に地域を表す語で, 明確な境界線を持たない

region: 方角や地名をしばしば伴い, 地理的特徴などがほかとは区別される広い地域をさす

district: regionよりは狭い区域をさし, school, business, financialといった目的を示す語をしばしば伴う

zone: time zone(時間帯)のようなある基準で指定された地域やwar, parkingなどの特定の行動を行う区域をさす

country: farming, rugby, wineといった特別な活動や物などで知られる地域のこと
