go up: 「上がる, 登る」の最も一般的な語.

rise: go up より文語的な語でほとんど同じ意味に用いられる.

climb: 通例「手足を使って努力して一歩一歩高い所に登る」の意だが, 比喩的に単に「登る (go up)」の意味でも用いられる.

ascend: 品位のある語で, climb と違い必ずしも努力や困難を含意せず, 「徐々に, 堂々と」の意を含む

1. with object go up or climb: 上がる、登る

2. no object rise through the air: 空気中を上昇する
